18th C French Louis XV Miniature Portrait painting on ivory of a small child with dog. Painting is approx. 3 by 4 inches and framed it is approx.9 by 10 inches. Back is marked Le petite Fille ? Louis XV par Nattier. Musee de Versailles B. de Tocqury Young girl beautifully drssed in a full lacy dress with light blue trim and sash and matching lace cap. Background is quite wonderful with a gold drape over a green panel or column. That leads to a red curtain and then the outside. Quite a unique perspective. A miniature copy of the original painting? ...though Nattier's mother Marie Courtois Nattier was a reknown Minaiture Painter. It also lists B. de Tocqury....Nattier daugter was a Madame Tocqu. Superb Napoleon I era miniature portrait on ivory. Back is signed Segaret 1811. My research found a French artist painting at that time by that name. A lady, seated on a blue chaise lounge resting her arm on a table with cherries, holding a pair of cherries in her right hand, wearing decollete white dress with pleated cropped sleeves. Her hair is dressed in curls. In original gold gilt wood frame with glazing . I am sure there is something allegorical re: the woman and cherries and the times...I don't know.     Russian Miniature Portrait Painting Father and Son, 1820 in Gold gilt Frame
Sold
Price: $1,500.00 USD
Miniature Portrait
A superb Russian painting and on the back is written 1820. On paper and attached to old card stock, looks to be a father and son. Their faces are masterpieces, the intricate wrinkles and life lines on the man's face and the wide eyed wonder of the boys. The clothing is quite wonderful with his suit coat quite wrinkled and wearing a black arm band. Still life on the table of a book with glasses, a pipe and glass or tobacco case. There is a signature in the foreground on the bowl of the pipe. Difficult to make out and it appears to be in Cyrillic. Frame looks to be original and is beautifully carved and gold gilt. Overall in good condition with a bit of paint wear to the edges Measurements: Painting 4 inches square Framed 7 1/2 inches Item ID: 136

Miniature Portrait
English Miniature portrait on ivory by George Patton . Portrait is approx. 2 by 2 3/4 inches. He is wearing a dark coat with silver buttons and a frilled white collar. Exhibited at th RA and BI and was appointed Portrait painter in Ordinary to Prince Albert in the 1840's. I will guarantee the authenticity of this painting. Rare and wonderful piece. His portraits are collected by many museums and are a mainstay of many Miniature Collectors. This is one of the best. A Patten recently sold in London for 1500 pounds, (3000 + US) and I feel this is a better painted and more interesting subject. A bit of paint loss to the right of the piece in the black shoulder of his jacket and the edge of the background. Unfortunately probably due to taking the portrait outside of the frame. Measurements: portrait 2 by 2 3/4 inches
